The seated dog is carved in the style of the Kyoto school, with densely and expressively incised shaggy fur. Its small head is turned backwards with an alert expression and carved in a naturalistic manner, both eyes are inlaid with in black horn. Large himotoshi on the underside, inscribed between the front and hind legs TOMOMASA.
